The first edition of Germany’s IT Security Expo “it-sa” held from 13-15th October in Nuremberg has been a great success. The 257 exhibitors represented a year-on-year increase compared to the previous edition of the fair (held in Munich within the Systems fair).
Visitor numbers were also impressive with more than 6,600 trade attendees drawn from all the key industry, government and research sectors attending – again an increase on the 5,700 attending the prior edition of Systems to see IT security. The show also made it’s mark as a national event for Germany, with some 80% of visitors travelling from outside the immediate region of Nuremberg and Munich to come to the fair.
Particularly popular this year were the open forums in the Exhibition halls. At the three lecture theatres experts delivered more than 180 sessions, of which a special highlight were the three keynote addresses by Taher Elgamal, one of the world's leading experts in the field of computer, networking and information security. Precision landing on IT security
The trade fair it-sa will remain the focal meeting point for IT security
experts in the south of Germany and, in particular, it will continue to
offer a platform for IT security managers through its open forums in the
exhibition halls.
