Welcoming address by the Mayor of Nuremberg

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to it-sa 2018 here in Nuremberg. For years now, it-sa has been the world's largest IT security trade fair.

The current public debate on IT security is in tune with the trend towards comprehensive security strategies and is also clearly reflected in the growth rates for it-sa.

The digital transformation continues to be the biggest driver of it-sa. But topics like IT security solutions to ward off espionage and sabotage, or advice on how to deal with the new legal framework resulting from the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the German IT Security Act, will also play a major role this year.

It-sa is the ideal platform if you are looking for partners to provide customised IT security solutions. It is a highly communicative event, not just thanks to the large number of presentations and the associated congress. It is a genuine industry gathering for IT security.

Here at it-sa you can get to know the entire scope of security solutions available on the market, find out about the latest products and services and enjoy dialogue with industry experts.

As a large cosmopolitan city with Franconian charm and a unique old town, Nuremberg has a lot to offer visitors. I hope that you will be able to take some time out from your busy trade fair activities to take a stroll through our lively old town with its historic sights, attractive shopping opportunities and great selection of places to eat and drink. I invite you to enjoy the attractions of Nuremberg city, the vibrant heart of the European Metropolitan Region of Nuremberg.

I hope that the exhibitors at it-sa will have a successful trade fair and that all visitors enjoy the opportunities to make good contacts and obtain interesting information.

I wish you all a pleasant and completely successful stay in Nuremberg.

Dr Ulrich Maly
