The special keynote speaker at it-sa 2019 is Misha Glenny. The award-winning British investigative journalist, author of the best-seller McMafia and cyber-crime expert will address the International Forum at 12 noon on Thursday 10 October. Access is free to all visitors and representatives of the more than 700 exhibiting companies.

Man or machine? Spotlight on the weakest link in IT security

At what is the world’s largest IT security fair by exhibitor numbers, Glenny will break with the common notion that human beings are the weakest link in a stable IT security chain. In his presentation “The Vitruvian Paradox: The Changing Face of the Human in Cyber Security”, he argues that the increasing complexity of our digital infrastructure poses an even greater threat. So it will be absolutely crucial for humans to maintain control over IT systems. Glenny, who also advises corporate boards on matters of IT security, shows why against this background, there needs to be change right through to the highest levels of management. Only by means of comprehensive awareness-raising about digital threats can the triumphal progress of globally operating hackers on behalf of organised crime be halted. Following his special keynote, Glenny will be available to answer questions from the floor.
