it-sa insights: Heavyweight-Meeting - The future of IT security is bright – or just another bubble? Vortragssprache Englisch

IT security has developed from a hidden subject only discussed by experts in the field to a hot topic affecting everyone and everything making headlines all around the world. This leaves room for various business models and a prospering industry facing many opportunities to grow in importance and weight. It is also challenged by open source projects, industries struggling with the digital transformation and increasing insecurity rather than a growing security. This means that the future could by shining bright, but also very rainy. Bright when we think about new technologies affecting the IT like blockchain, machine learning, AI, robots or concepts like security by design or security by default and a growing security awareness among employees, C-level and consumers all around the world. Rainy, if we think about increasing number of data breaches, ransomware attack campaigns, vulnerabilities left open by secret services and the skills gap in the industry itself. What does the future for the it security industry holds?
