it-sa insights: Heavyweight-Meeting: European approach for a common digital market
The GDPR was one of many recent European polices that had heavy impact on companies in Europe and beyond. Since September 2019 PSD2 made Two Factor Authentication mandatory, just this year the European Cyber Security Act provided the ENISA with more competences – among other things. Also, several states in Europe take action to clarify standards and govern their economies into the age of digitalization.
At the same time, organizations continue their transition. In nearly all area we are seeing drastic shifts: Integration innovation like smart factories, digital automation and IoT change processes. Modern office environments allow new job models and desktop mobility, business models and sources of revenues are changing rapidly. Many markets expect a disruption by new players and technology.
This panel brings senior representatives of leading security companies from all over the world together to discuss the most important actions, technical mechanisms, current risks and legal requirements to assure that the drastic changes are not leading to security risks.
PSD2, GDPR, NIS and many other acts are made to protect the citizens in the EU. But laws alone cannot assure protection of people and organizations.
How can one combine technology and legal standards?
What needs to be improved?
What should organizations do?
