Computacenter - IIoT-Security & Production Data Analytics
- a winning team for a more efficient and secure production
The data security and integrity of configurations, software, control logic and PLC programs play a decisive role in networked production. If attackers can change these configurations or the associated production parameters, it is easy to cause production downtimes, negatively influence product quality or increased energy consumption/material sealing, and also endanger human lives.
Therefore, production facilities must be protected against unauthorized data access, manipulation and malicious software such as Ransomware. Today, however, attacks on production systems cannot be reliably avoided despite a multitude of preventive protective measures. This is due to the safety-related restrictions of many of the installed components (HMIs, PLCs, IOs, bus couplers, etc.) in production. There are always weak points that cyber criminals can exploit to change the configuration of a production system.
The lecture explains how the topics security monitoring and production data analysis complement each other and which added value is created by data evaluation in addition to security for those responsible for production and maintenance. We will also show examples of how monitoring can increase the efficiency and productivity of the manufacturing process while protecting the production system at the same time.
