Airbus - Gamified approaches for raising IT-Security Awareness Vortragssprache Englisch

In the presentation "Gamified approaches for raising IT-Security Awareness" Airbus CyberSecurity will present modern methods for improvements of the personnel layer of cyber defence. The goal is to raise IT-Security Awareness in the dimensions of perception (to recognize threats), protection (to know solutions), and behavior (to act right). Here, Airbus CyberSecurity uses design element characteristics for games, as well as game-thinking in non-game situations, e.g. the protection of IT and OT environments. In the three methods provided, not only technical and personnel aspects are in the foreground but also infrastructural and even organizational aspects to raise IT-Security Awareness for IT and OT professionals and managers.

Depending on customer needs and goals, different gamified methods will be presented: Cyberwargames, CyberRange Trainings, and Cyber Security Exercises. In the Cyberwargames red and blue teams develop attack and defense strategies to explore IT-and OT Security. These Cyberwargames are developed as table-top games whereas CyberRange Trainings are hands-on trainings in form of Capture the Flag events or red and blue team trainings. In these trainings participants will learn about attackers’ current techniques and tactics and how to defend effectively. Here technical aspects are in the foreground.

To test processes in context of incident response and business continuity Airbus CyberSecurity offers cyber security exercises to test technical, infrastructural, personnel, and organizational countermeasures. In these exercises organizations will be confronted with a cyber-attack scenario that has to be handled based on implemented countermeasures. Taking part in Airbus CyberSecurity´s exercises will improve existing plans and processes, as well as develop further skillsets in incident and emergency handling.
