filesecure is a locally installed web application that can be made available to any employee
of your organization to scan suspicious files and URLs for threats, such as viruses or
ransomware.
It does not matter whether it is an end user who wants to check incoming applications, a
helpdesk employee who provides files from tickets for analysis or an administrator who
automatically scans suspicious URLs.
The local connection means that the files always remain in the network. Therefore, sensitive
or person-related data records can also be analyzed without special data protection
challenges. There is no automatic provision of collected information to third parties.
For analysis purposes, uploaded objects are executed within a sandbox and checked during
runtime. External resources such as links or images contained in files or files downloaded by
URLs are also included in the analysis.
After completion of the check, the user receives a visual feedback on the website. In
addition, a unique value is assigned to each result, allowing the IT department to view a
more detailed report. This allows analysis to be tracked in detail as needed and open issues
to be resolved in discussion with the user.
If the analysis identifies a malicious object, the information is also automatically shared with
internal security systems. This protects the entire infrastructure from infection by the
provided object. The information shared within the infrastructure includes both unique file
values or URLs and associated external resources. If a malware scan detects that it is
connecting to a C&C server, the server is marked as a malicious object in addition to the
malware.
This means that other variants of the same malware are also detected as soon as they
establish a connection to the detected C&C servers.
