Network Access Control (NAC) is actually a topic that has occupied and accompanied every company since the introduction of network access sockets. But today, monitoring and reporting the connected devices is extremely important for network security, especially in times of WLAN and BYOD. However, many companies do not always know exactly which devices are connected where in your network, who owns them and, above all, what they do.

Together with macmon we offer you an intelligent and simple NAC system. What this means and what benefits you get from using macmon is simple to explain: macmon communicates with all manageable switches in your network and thus has a complete overview of all connected devices in the network:

  1. Overview and online documentation, which MAC and IP addresses are currently available in the network and to which switches are connected
  2. Automatic configuration of the Ethernet access ports into a guest VLAN or, depending on the authorization, into the application VLAN VoIP, EDP, etc.
  3. Message to a central monitoring system, if unauthorized MAC addresses, e.g. in the WLAN, are connected
  4. Blocking the access port or switching to a quarantine VLAN
