The Central Point of Contact for Cybercrime at the Bayerisches Landeskriminalamt (Bavarian State Criminal Police Office) is in matters of cybercrime the single point of contact of the Bavarian Police for all police agencies as well as for companies, public authorities and other institutions.
It is a competent partner in the fight against cybercrime and provides advice to institutions before they become a victim of cybercrime as well as information on cybercrime prevention, for example in the form of lectures. In addition, it provides the first response and valuable help to institutions affected by cybercrime.
For the Central Point of Contact for Cybercrime, handling information in a discrete manner is a given that is regulated by law.
Its task is to promote close cooperation between the police, the business and research sectors and public authorities. The Central Point of Contact for Cybercrime belongs to Division 54 of the Bayerisches Landeskriminalamt and is able to make use not only of the structures within a modern police headquarters but also of a well-developed network of public authorities, universities and IT security companies.
